Type of Organization or Mission: The mission of the Birmingham Holocaust Education Center (BHEC) is to educate the people of Alabama about the history of the Holocaust so that new generations will apply the lessons of the Holocaust to the construction of a more just, humane and tolerant future. By preserving and sharing the stories of local Holocaust survivors and commemorating the events of the Holocaust and the lives of those who perished, the BHEC seeks to promote a moral and ethical response to prejudice, hatred and indifference for the benefit of all humanity. The BHEC is a JFR "Center of Excellence."

Type of Organization: We are national and international Holocaust education organization working with educators, museums, community centers, religious centers universities and libraries. 

Mission: The Butterfly Project is a call to action through education, the arts and memorial making. It uses the lessons of the Holocaust to educate about the dangers of hatred and bigotry and cultivates empathy and social responsibility. Participants paint ceramic butterflies that are permanently displayed as symbols of resilience and hope, with the goal of creating 1.5 million butterflies around the world—one for each child who perished in the Holocaust, and honoring the survivors.

Mission: The Canadian Society for Yad Vashem’s (CSYV) mission is to disseminate the universal lessons of the Holocaust across Canada through commemorative and educational activities. CSYV, in tandem with Yad Vashem: The World Holocaust Remembrance Center, supports charitable projects, brings Canadian educators to Israel to educate and equip themselves with the right academic tools to address and teach the Holocaust in their classrooms and their communities across Canada and work in partnership with alumni of the seminar, with local school boards, provincial ministries of education and with Canadian organizations to continue this important education across Canada.
